NEON ABYSS

Neon Abyss 2 Beginner Guide

Start by checking the evolution tree, your resource counters and the interaction prompt. Do not treat every floor-1 blockage as a missing upgrade.

If I were starting a profile today, I would spend the first runs on the evolution tree and on learning which resource a Smiley Merchant is charging. I would not hunt a secret door before the tree’s first nodes are open.

A first-session order

Weapon XP and the Hexjar are named in the 1.0 quality notes. Graphics and frame-rate options were also improved. Those are the settings I would open before a long run.

  1. Open the evolution tree and take the earliest nodes.
  2. Learn the Smiley Merchant payment swap before you spend a heart by accident.
  3. Pick up eggs when a crate breaks. Hatchmon scale some later rewards.
  4. Read the co-op page before you promise a couch session.

First-Run Decisions

These are low-risk checks based on documented systems.

  1. Read the evolution tree and the locked requirement before spending currency.
  2. At a Smiley Merchant, inspect the requested resource. Holding interaction spends coins to change the payment type randomly.
  3. Read your weapon affixes and compare direct upgrades with Tempering.
  4. Try unlocked weapons in the Bar Training Room before committing to a build.
  5. If a door will not open, clear active enemies and inspect the prompt. Record the room and build if the same transition repeatedly fails.

Questions this page answers

I am stuck on floor 1. What now?

Distinguish uncleared enemies, a failed door transition, a locked requirement and a control problem. The 1.0 notes fix several transition/control locks; that does not prove your current blockage is an evolution-tree problem.

Is there a full walkthrough?

Not an official one. The systems pages cover co-op, Faith, Hatchmon, and bosses with the facts that are published.
