Neon Abyss 2 supports up to four players online. Xbox lists Xbox cross-platform co-op; cross-store play involving Steam, PS5 or Switch has not been independently verified. Local co-op and split-screen are not supported.
On 15 October 2026 I checked Xbox's official product fields alongside Steam categories. Xbox explicitly lists Xbox cross-platform co-op. Steam lists Online Co-op but no cross-platform category; that omission does not negate Xbox's separate feature listing or establish a Steam-to-console pairing.
What is supported
Online co-op is up to four players. Storm Breach is described as a faster mode for one to four players. A 30 July 2026 note replaced free chat with preset emotes.
Xbox's official listing names Xbox cross-platform co-op and Xbox Play Anywhere. These fields do not identify every supported store pairing. Steam, PS5 and Switch cross-store play remains unverified here.

The 2020 game is not co-op
Neon Abyss (2020) is tagged Single-player only. A co-op search for the first game should not be answered with the sequel’s online mode.
Resource Strategy and Owned Drops
Rule Changer puts three resource strategies in the co-op menu. These govern the documented power/resource calculation, not whether the game supports local or cross-platform play.
